However I may wait til Nvidia relese the Pascal gp100 gfx card and water block it. However release date is unknown and could be anywhere from 2nd to 4th quarter. Maybe better to build the pc now and upgrade to the Pascal when prices settle and specs that should be released at the April conferance http://www.gputechconf.com/ .

anyone want to give me an idea of what components i should be looking for for a new PC, not upgraded for about 5 years so don't really know what is the spec. i am guessing an intel i7 cpu but after that who knows? i will have about £1k when my bonus comes through at the end of May.

      thanks

case doesn't support optical drive so they are giving me an external dvd.

this will also make you smile as i downloaded 3DMark and PCMark and tested my current system.
                      3DMark Score
1 733 with ATI Radeon HD 5770(1x) and Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9300
                      Graphics Score 1 813
                      Physics Score 4 253
                      Combined Score 781

                      for comparison:

                      4K gaming PC - 17805
Gaming PC (HTC Vive/Oculus Rift minimum spec) - 9271
                      Gaming laptop (2013) - 3364
                      This score - 1733
                      Notebook - 1479
                      Office PC (2013) - 520

so for gaming i am just slightly better than a notebook!!!!

                      PCMark Score
2 328 with ATI Radeon HD 5770(1x) and Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9300

                      for comparison

                      4K gaming PC - 4198
Gaming PC (HTC Vive/Oculus Rift minimum spec) - 3785
                      Notebook - 2465
                      This score - 2328
                      Gaming laptop (2013) - 1865
                      Office PC (2013) - 1849

so for general usage my system is worse than a notebook!

i will also test the new one next week and post those results.

If your going AMD card and you have a little bit of patience wait for the RX480. It will be released at 29 june, reports say the cards are being stocked so it is not a paper launch. Estimated performance will be around R390X and GTX980. Introduction price 200 dollars (with taxes) which means 170 pound (including taxes) or 220 euros.
I am looking at it to replace my old HD6970.
